A vintage steam train has started operations between Bagan and Kyaukpadaung in December 2014. The train operates every Tuesday and leaves Bagan at 8 am. The 55-km journey costs USD 199 per person (return) according to Myanmar Times. Included in the price are a short stop in a local village, meals (breakfast and lunch) and transportation by car to and from Mount Popa.
